Osun residents accuse IBEDC of exploitation over power supply

Residents in Osun State have accused the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) of exploitation regarding inconsistent power supply and unpredictable electricity units. Consumers reported that the number of units received for the same monetary amount varies significantly between purchases.

Complaints also center on the classification of service bands. Residents claim they are being charged higher tariffs associated with Band A service levels despite receiving inadequate electricity. Some community members alleged that IBEDC moved consumers from lower service bands, such as Band C, directly to Band A while removing intermediate options like Band B, without providing the improved service required for the higher costs.
