Osun State Government approves new Onijabe of Ijabeland

The Osun State Executive Council has officially approved the appointment of Prince Babatunde Omotosho Tajudeen as the new Onijabe of Ijabeland in the Odo Otin Local Government Area.

The decision followed a review process in which the council nullified the 2018 amended declaration governing the Onijabe of Ijabe chieftaincy title to reassess the selection procedure. The appointment takes effect immediately.

In addition to Prince Tajudeen’s installation, the council ratified several other traditional ruler appointments across the state, including the Olugbense of Agurodo, the Alaba of Alaba-Ijesa, and the Akogun of Ife. The council also authorized the promotion of various lower-ranking chiefs to the status of Part II recognized chiefs.
