Osun State government denies APC claims of worker victimization

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration of victimizing local government workers who supported the opposition during the August 15 governorship election. The APC alleges that the Local Government Service Commission has formed a committee to identify and discipline workers based on their political affiliations, describing the move as political surveillance.

In response, the Osun State government has dismissed these claims as fake news. The Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, stated that no workers are being targeted and emphasized the administration’s commitment to reconciliation. The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, clarified that individuals being questioned are actually under investigation for allegedly receiving double salaries, rather than for their political choices.
