Osun State Governor extends UNIOSUN Vice-Chancellor tenure
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has approved a two-year tenure extension for Osun State University (UNIOSUN) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Clement Adebooye, effective January 4, 2027. Speaking through Deputy Prince Kola Adewusi at a university convocation ceremony, the Governor justified the decision by citing the institution’s significant infrastructural and academic progress over the last four years.
Adeleke highlighted that 40 major building projects have been commissioned during this period, including a FIFA-standard sports complex, a 3-in-1 science laboratory complex, and two major lecture theatres. Additionally, over 30 other projects involving renovations and solar installations have been completed.
The Governor also commended the university for maintaining industrial harmony and academic stability, noting that UNIOSUN has not missed an academic session or delayed student graduations in five years. He further noted that the university is among the state-owned institutions to fully implement the 2025 FGN Staff Union agreement, contributing to a conducive teaching and learning environment.
