Osun State police recover second corpse at Mayfair Motor Park

Police in Osun State have recovered a second corpse from the Mayfair Motor Park in Ile-Ife during an operation to enforce a government-ordered shutdown of the facility. The discovery follows a violent shooting incident at the terminal.

One of the deceased has been identified as Olalekan Oyeyemi, an Accord Party chieftain also known as Emir Ajagungbade. Reports indicate Oyeyemi was shot dead during a clash involving a group led by a National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) leader. The killing has been linked to internal disputes regarding the installation of a new NURTW chairman in Osun State.

Governor Ademola Adeleke ordered the closure of the motor park to facilitate security sweeps and curb lawlessness. The Osun State Police Command has transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department. Authorities have urged individuals implicated in the violence to surrender to law enforcement, promising that all suspects will be apprehended regardless of their status.
