Osuna hosts Hojiblanca de Oro awards amid olive price concerns

The XXVII Hojiblanca de Oro awards were presented in Osuna to recognize the quality of Hojiblanca olives and local agricultural excellence. The top honors, the Olivo de Oro, Silver, and Bronze, were awarded to Ignacio Martín de la Hinojosa, Manuel Hinojosa Rodríguez, and Javier Linares Roldán, respectively.

During the ceremony, Mayor Rosario Andújar expressed concern regarding the decline in olive prices during the current campaign, noting that the situation threatens the profitability of many farms. She called for greater sector unity and measures to ensure fair remuneration for producers. Additionally, Ángel Angulo, manager of SAT Santa Teresa, emphasized the need for increased cooperativism, joint marketing, and market diversification to address industry difficulties.
