Agostina Vega femicide case advances in Córdoba courts

Prosecutor Raúl Garzón is taking investigative statements from three suspects in the femicide of 14‑year‑old Agostina Vega in Córdoba, Argentina. Osvaldo Fassetta, accused of aggravated cover‑up, declared himself innocent. Soledad Andreani, the former partner of main accused Claudio Barrelier, is also charged with aggravated cover‑up for allegedly providing a Ford Ka that was used to move Vega’s body to a vacant lot in the Ampliación Ferreyra neighbourhood and later washing the car. Barrelier, the primary suspect, faces a charge of triple‑qualified homicide (femicide) after prosecutors say he strangled the girl following sexual abuse on 23 May in a house in the Cofico neighbourhood and hid the body for several hours before the alleged disposal. All three suspects refused to give substantive testimony. Video evidence shows Barrelier and Andreani together after the disappearance. The prosecutor has ten days to decide on further procedural steps.
