Peronist leaders hold mass commemorations for Day of Loyalty across Argentina

Peronist leaders across Argentina held various events to commemorate the ‘Día de la Lealtad’ (Day of Loyalty), marking the 81st anniversary of the October 17, 1945, movement.

A massive gathering of over 20,000 people took place in La Matanza, led by Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof, Vice Governor Verónica Magario, and Mayor Fernando Espinoza. Speakers at the event criticized the economic policies of President Javier Milei and called for political unity to build an alternative for the 2027 elections.

Other regional commemorations included an event in Catamarca led by Senator Lucía Corpacci, and a ‘Vigilia de la Lealtad’ in Rosario featuring Senator José Mayans and Deputy Germán Martínez, who emphasized the need to consolidate the movement against current government adjustment models. In Tucumán, internal party tensions were evident as Governor Osvaldo Jaldo and former Governor Juan Manzur held separate acts, with Manzur criticizing Jaldo’s alignment with the current administration.

In La Rioja, Vice Governor Teresita Madera addressed the impact of the national economic model on working families, while in Moreno, Mayor Mariel Fernández led a gathering of the League of Mayors, emphasizing human bonds and political organization.
