Oswaldo Pirela released on bond after ICE detention
Oswaldo Pirela, a Venezuelan catching coordinator in the San Diego Padres minor league system, has been released on bond following his detention by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Pirela was detained on August 16 at El Paso International Airport in Texas while traveling for work.

His sister, Daniela Pirela, noted that he has lived in the U.S. for 12 years and has followed all legal procedures. The San Diego Padres confirmed his release and expressed satisfaction that he has reunited with his family, though they stated they will not provide further comment due to the ongoing legal process.
