Otaru tourism updates include holiday bus schedules and canal lighting

The Otaru Tourism Association has released updates for visitors in Otaru, Hokkaido, specifically regarding the Obon holiday period. Local transportation providers, including Chuo Bus and JR Hokkaido Bus, are operating on special Obon schedules from August 13 to 15.

Tourism information for the Otaru Canal area includes lighting schedules for gas lamps and warehouse illuminations. The Otaru Canal walking path is lit from sunset until midnight, while the North Canal walking path operates on a sensor-based schedule from 18:00 to 4:00 during the summer months. The Otaru Canal warehouse group illuminations are scheduled until 22:30.
