Otaru tourism updates report weather advisories and local events

The Otaru Tourism Association has released daily updates for late September 2026 regarding local conditions and events in Otaru, Hokkaido.

On September 28, the area experienced mixed weather with high temperatures reaching 23°C. The ‘3DAYS Ura Otaru Bazaar’ was held in Ura Montparnasse. Local museums, including the Otaru Literary Museum and Otaru Museum of Art, were closed.

On September 29, weather conditions shifted to rain and clouds with a high of 19°C. Advisories were issued for strong winds, waves, thunder, and dense fog. The Ura Otaru Bazaar continued, and several local museums and the Otaru City General Museum remained closed for the day.
