Otazu becomes Navarra’s first winery to earn B Corp certification

Otazu has become the first winery in Navarra to receive the B Corp certification, marking a milestone for responsible and sustainable business practices in the region. The certification highlights the company’s performance in governance, worker commitment, and environmental stewardship, specifically regarding air, climate, and innovative agricultural processes.

CEO Diego Farrera stated that the certification recognizes the company’s long-term efforts to produce high-quality wines while caring for people and the environment. This achievement joins previous sustainability recognitions held by the winery, such as Sustainable Wineries for Climate Protection (SWfCP) and the Biosphere certification.

In addition to environmental initiatives like the use of renewable energy, Otazu has worked to preserve local viticultural heritage, such as the recovery of the Berués grape variety from the Pamplona Basin.
