Othman Faroun wins WBF International boxing title

Moroccan boxer Othman Faroun won the World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Championship title in Essaouira. Faroun secured the victory via a sixth-round knockout against Slovakian boxer Alis Odraška during a professional boxing event held at the المسيرة الخضراء ( المسيرة الخضراء) indoor hall.

The event, organized by the Essaouira Sports Boxing Association in partnership with Ring Hanzaz Dionysien France, was supervised by the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation and the National Professional Boxing League. In addition to the main event, three other professional bouts took place: Yanni Knight Othman (France) defeated Mohamed Tedlaoui (Morocco) in the 69kg category, a match between Fabian Soutan (France) and Abderrahmane Farwan (Morocco) ended in a draw in the 67kg category, and Youssef Mouheb defeated Zakaria Troli in a domestic bout in the 72kg category.

Following his victory, Faroun expressed pride in winning the international title in his hometown, noting that this achievement follows his previous acquisition of the African and Middle East belts in 2024. Nabil Halimi, Vice President of the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation, stated that the event serves as a significant step in developing professional boxing in Morocco.
