Otovice police launch manhunt after domestic assault

Police in the Karlovy Vary Region are conducting a manhunt for 41-year-old Michal Karas following a violent domestic assault in Otovice. The victim, a 41-year-old mother of two, was transported to the University Hospital in Plzeň with serious head injuries.

The incident was reported by the victim's two teenage daughters, who called emergency services. Neighbors indicated that the suspect had a history of domestic issues and previous police interventions at the residence. Authorities have deployed police helicopters, dogs, and all-terrain vehicles to search the surrounding fields and have warned the public not to attempt to apprehend the suspect themselves.
