Otranto hosts conclusion of Mediterranean Journalists Festival

The 18th edition of the Festival Giornalisti del Mediterraneo concluded in Otranto with the presentation of the ‘Caravella’ awards. The event focused on Mediterranean geopolitical scenarios and the impact of social media and artificial intelligence on the information profession.

Award recipients included Lucio Caracciolo, founder of Limes magazine; Iacopo Luzi, a White House correspondent; and General Armando Franza. Other honorees included journalist Luciana Esposito, Palestinian journalist Alhassan Selmi, Claudio Antonelli, and Leonardo Zellino. A special award for press freedom was presented to American freelance journalist Shelly Kittleson, who was recently released following a kidnapping in Baghdad.
