OTRE suspends transport mobilization in France
The Organisation des Transporteurs Routiers Européens (OTRE) has announced the suspension of its planned mobilization for October 21 and 22. This decision follows a meeting on October 13 where the French Government provided written commitments to address the transport sector's concerns regarding rising energy costs.
The agreement includes several key measures: a reduction in diesel prices by up to 18 cents per liter starting November 1 for three months through the release of strategic stocks, and the accelerated disbursement of sectoral aid totaling over 200 million euros. Additionally, the government has committed to strengthening the legal mechanism for indexing transport prices to fuel costs and hardening sanctions for non-compliance.
