Otrokovice launches participatory budgeting vote for community projects
The city of Otrokovice has launched the sixth year of its ‘POHNI městem’ participatory budgeting project. Residents can vote on five proposed community projects from August 14 until September 30. The two winning proposals that receive the most votes and fit within a total budget of two million CZK will be implemented by the city.
The five competing proposals include:
• Move it: A modern outdoor movement playground at the Mánesova Primary School area, costing 1,000,000 CZK. • Solar benches: Four benches with USB and contactless mobile charging located in the Trávníky and Štěrkoviště areas, costing 479,760 CZK. • Slide and noise reduction at Přístaviště: A stainless steel slide and climbing elements with a wooden wall for noise dampening, costing 630,000 CZK. • Ropeway at Štěrkoviště: A double ropeway near the existing playground, costing 555,148 CZK. • Multi-purpose sports and relaxation station: A space for badminton and outdoor table tennis on Boženy Němcové Street, costing 915,000 CZK.
Citizens can cast one to three votes per project using the Munipolis application or via paper ballots found in the August issue of the local municipal newspaper.
