Otsu City initiates preservation plans for Sakamoto Castle ruins

Otsu City has begun efforts to preserve and utilize the site of Sakamoto Castle, a historical landmark built by the Sengoku-period warlord Akechi Mitsuhide. The city has established an expert committee to oversee the project, which aims to manage the National Historic Site and its surrounding landscape.

A formal plan for the preservation and utilization of the castle ruins is expected to be formulated within the next fiscal year.
