Ottati launches agricultural project to promote Dottato fig production

In Ottati, the fourth edition of the ‘Ficus in Tabula – I gusti del Fico Dottato’ event was held at the Convento dei Domenicani to promote local agricultural heritage and economic development.

As part of a broader municipal strategy, Mayor Elio Guadagno participated in the symbolic planting of the first fig of a new agricultural project. The initiative aims to plant 5,000 new Dottato fig trees, alongside 1,000 hazelnut plants, and includes plans for pig and poultry farming. The municipality also intends to establish an equipped laboratory for processing local produce to foster a public-private partnership that generates employment and combats regional depopulation.
