Ottawa marks 200th anniversary amid local news updates

Ottawa is celebrating its bicentennial, marking 200 years since its founding as Bytown on September 26, 1826. Residents are gathering for various programming and events to commemorate the milestone.

In separate local news, the Ottawa Police Service is seeking public assistance to locate a missing 14-year-old teenager who was last seen on Saturday, September 26, in the Como Crescent and Varennes Boulevard area.

Additionally, a fatal collision occurred on Highway 17 west of Arnprior early Saturday morning involving an SUV and a tanker truck. The driver of the SUV was killed, while the tanker truck driver remained uninjured, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.
