Ottawa mayoral candidates announced for 2026 election

Six candidates are running for Mayor of Ottawa in the 2026 municipal election, including incumbent Mark Sutcliffe. Other candidates include Zed Chebib, Suraj Harish, Alex Lawson, Jeff Leiper, Neil Saravanamuttoo, and Peter Westaway.

In recent responses to inquiries, candidates highlighted their previous achievements. Jeff Leiper noted his work in doubling Ottawa’s affordable housing budget in 2023. Neil Saravanamuttoo cited his efforts regarding transparency and spending related to the Lansdowne 2.0 project. Mark Sutcliffe pointed to progress in housing, public transit, public safety, and infrastructure.
