Ottawa REDBLACKS replace football operations VP Shawn Burke
The Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) has announced that Shawn Burke is leaving his position as Vice President of Football Operations for the Ottawa REDBLACKS.
Burke, who joined the organization in 2021, has led football operations for five seasons. The decision follows a difficult period for the franchise, which currently holds an 0-10 record this season and is enduring a 16-game losing streak, noted as the longest in modern CFL history.
OSEG CEO Mark Goudie expressed respect for Burke’s dedication and hard work but stated that a change in leadership was necessary because the team’s on-field results have not met expectations.
