Ottawa Senators defeat New Jersey Devils 4-1

The Ottawa Senators continued their strong start to the NHL season with a 4-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Monday night at the Prudential Center. Tim Stützle led the offensive effort with one goal and one assist, while Shane Pinto opened the scoring just nine seconds into the second period. Stephen Halliday and Tyler Kleven also contributed goals for Ottawa.

Goaltender Linus Ullmark made 29 saves, helping the Senators reach a 5-1-0 record. This marks only the third time in franchise history that Ottawa has won five of its first six games. Arseny Gritsyuk scored the lone goal for the Devils.

The win came despite significant injury concerns for Ottawa. Defenseman Nikolas Matinpalo left the game with an upper-body injury following a collision with New Jersey’s Anthony Mantha. The Senators were already playing without several key players, including Jake Sanderson, Artem Zub, and William Eklund.
