Ottawa Senators prepare for post-Brady Tkachuk era

The Ottawa Senators are transitioning into a post-Brady Tkachuk era following the captain's trade to the Florida Panthers. Senators owner Michael Andlauer addressed the departure, suggesting that family ties influenced Tkachuk's decision to move to Florida to play alongside his brother.

General manager Steve Staios expressed confidence in the team's direction, noting that the group is focused on growth and leveraging recent playoff experience. To address the loss of Tkachuk's offensive production, the team plans to utilize a scoring-by-committee approach featuring players such as Tim Stutzle, Drake Batherson, and Dylan Cozens. The Senators are scheduled to begin their 2026-27 regular season against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
