Otto Addo files FIFA dispute against Ghana Football Association

Former Black Stars coach Otto Addo has reportedly escalated a contractual dispute against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to FIFA. The legal action follows the termination of Addo’s contract in March 2026, which occurred just 72 days before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Addo is seeking compensation for outstanding financial obligations, including unpaid salaries and bonuses. Reports indicate he is claiming approximately $750,000, representing roughly 15 months of unpaid wages at a monthly rate of $50,000, plus additional contractual entitlements.

The GFA dismissed Addo following a series of poor results, including a 5-1 defeat to Austria and a 2-1 loss to Germany. Addo, who had led the team through World Cup qualification, previously expressed confusion regarding the dismissal, suggesting that expectations set by GFA president Kurt Okraku were unrealistic.
