Otto Waalkes debuts at the 14th Brunner Wiesn festival

The 14th Brunner Wiesn festival in Brunn am Gebirge has officially commenced with the traditional beer tapping ceremony performed by Mayor Andreas Linhart. A major highlight of the opening was the festival debut of German comedian and musician Otto Waalkes, who performed alongside his group, the ‘Friesenjungs’.

The event, which takes place in Austria’s largest festival tent, is expected to attract approximately 150,000 visitors by its conclusion on October 3. The musical lineup includes various themed events, such as ‘Mallorca Parties’ featuring artists like Mickie Krause and Lorenz Büffel, as well as ‘Millennium Beats’ showcasing 2000s-era dance and trance music from acts such as Groove Coverage and Brooklyn Bounce.
