Ottobock faces lawsuit over Russia business disclosures

The Deutsche Schutzvereinigung für Wertpapierbesitz (DSW) has filed a prospectus liability lawsuit against the prosthetics manufacturer Ottobock. The legal action centers on how the company described its business operations in Russia within its securities prospectus following its stock market debut in October 2025.

The DSW argues that the prospectus may not have provided a sufficiently complete picture of the company's Russian business, specifically citing concerns regarding state procurement structures and the role of the Russian Social Insurance Fund. The lawsuit aims to provide clarity for investors regarding these risks.

Ottobock has rejected the allegations, maintaining the integrity of its prospectus and all other capital market disclosures. The company noted that the document was approved by the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) in October. While Ottobock has reported increased demand from Russia and Ukraine, management has stated that these operations represent only a small portion of its total European business and that the company does not conduct business with the Russian military.
