Ottobock Running Clinic held for first time in Medellín

Medellín, Colombia, hosted the first Ottobock Running Clinic, an international program designed to provide specialized training for individuals with amputations. Held from August 14 to 16, the event brought together participants from Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, and Chile.

During the three-day clinic, 16 participants engaged in exercises focused on balance, running technique, stretching, and physical activity to adapt to the use of sports prosthetics. Notably, approximately 90% of the attendees used a sports prosthesis for the first time. The program concluded with a 200-meter race.

The event was led by Paralympic champion Heinrich Popow and supported by an interdisciplinary team including physiatrists, specialized technicians, and physiotherapists. Derly Patricia Martínez, Ottobock’s Business Development Manager for Latin America, noted the significant increase in participants' confidence and physical stability throughout the training.
