Ottone hosts ESE 2026 search and rescue exercise

The ESE Ottone 2026 interregional exercise concluded in Ottone, involving over 120 operators specialized in search and rescue within the Apennine environment. Organized by Anpas Emilia-Romagna and Anpas Liguria, the two-day training event brought together volunteers from both regional associations, the Vigili del Fuoco (firefighters), 118 Piacenza Soccorso medical personnel, and RNRE civil protection volunteers providing telecommunications support.

The exercise aimed to simulate real-world emergency scenarios to enhance training and collaboration between different rescue components. Participants practiced procedures designed to replicate the difficult conditions of actual emergencies in rugged terrain. Local authorities and healthcare leaders attended the closing ceremony, emphasizing the importance of continuous professional training for both volunteers and medical staff to maintain high standards of emergency response.
