Otávio faces uncertain future at Al-Qadisyah
Portuguese midfielder Otávio faces an uncertain future at Al-Qadisyah in Saudi Arabia following recent squad changes. After starting the first three official matches of the season, the 31-year-old was left out of the squad for the match against Neom SC.
The decision by manager Brendan Rodgers follows the arrival of Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. With the club reaching its limit of eight foreign players, Reijnders' inclusion has displaced Otávio. Other foreign players currently preferred in the lineup include goalkeeper Koen Casteels, Gastón Álvarez, Nacho Fernández, Julian Weigl, Christopher Bonsu, Quiñones, and Retegui.
Otávio, who joined Al-Qadisyah after a stint at Al-Nassr and a long career at FC Porto, may be forced to find a new club before the summer transfer window closes.
