Ouaddaï Provincial Council reviews 2023-2027 development plan
The Ouaddaï Provincial Council has launched a mid-term review of its 2023-2027 development plan. The evaluation session, held on September 1, 2026, aims to assess progress made over the last four years, identify persistent challenges, and define strategic priorities for the remaining two years of the plan.
Organized by the Provincial Action Committee with support from UNICEF, the workshop focuses on validating diagnostic reports and prioritizing sectoral investments. The goal is to adapt development strategies to local realities, specifically to increase the impact of actions on vulnerable populations, including women and children.
During the session, Abderamane Diar Nassour of the Ministry of Finance and Planning affirmed the central government's support for the provincial council. Dr. Issa Djibril, representing UNICEF, emphasized the necessity of adjusting strategic directions based on measured results. Ilyas Haroun Matar, the interim president of the Provincial Council, described the review as a vital tool for improving local governance and the management of decentralized public services.
