Oudaya Summer Festival opens 14th edition in Rabat

The 14th edition of the Oudaya Summer International Festival of Arts and Culture has launched at the Abu Raqraq Corniche in Rabat. Organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication in collaboration with the National Music Council, the event is held under the patronage of King Mohammed VI as part of the Throne Day celebrations.

The opening night featured tributes to prominent Moroccan artists. Mahmoud Makri was honored for his career and his role in blending Moroccan music with rock styles, while Fouad Zadi received a shield for his contributions to Moroccan and Arabic classical music.

The festival's programming includes a diverse array of Moroccan and international performers, such as Bulgarian artist Diana Dafova, Moroccan singer Ayoub El Tijani, and Fatima Zahra El Aroussi accompanied by the Morocco Multicultural Orchestra led by Maestro Hamza Amzeker. Wafaa Bennani, Director General of the festival, stated that the program aims to stimulate cultural activity in Rabat and foster communication between different musical generations. The festivities are scheduled to continue until August 12.
