Oude Pekela to host tricycle discovery day for seniors

Doortrappen Groningen is organizing a discovery day for seniors in Oude Pekela on September 9. The event, held at the De Binding multifunctional center, focuses on tricycle usage to encourage cycling among older adults who may struggle with balance or mounting standard bicycles.

Led by the Fietsersbond, the program aims to improve cycling safety and mobility for seniors. During the event, participants can consult with cycling instructors, test various tricycles, and receive advice on converting their own bicycles into tricycles. The initiative is part of the broader ‘Doortrappen in Groningen’ program, a collaboration involving the Province of Groningen and all local municipalities to promote active lifestyles and reduce accidents among elderly cyclists.
