Ouke no Monsho 50th Anniversary Exhibition Opens in Tokyo
An exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the manga series ‘Ouke no Monsho’ (The Emblem of the Royal Family) opened on August 28, 2026, at Yurakucho Marui in Tokyo. The series, a collaborative work by sisters Chieko Hosokawa and Fumin, is considered a pioneer of the ‘isekai reincarnation’ genre and has reached a cumulative circulation of 40 million copies.
The exhibition features 90 original artworks, including color illustrations and manuscript pages. Visitors can also view cell animation and participate in activities such as an Egyptian mythology fortune-telling session. Following the Tokyo event, the exhibition is scheduled to tour Osaka in October 2026 and Fukuoka in January 2027.
During a press preview, Egyptologist Sakuji Yoshimura praised the work for its accurate depiction of ancient Egyptian features and historical interpretations. The creators noted that while the conclusion of the series is already envisioned, they continue to work driven by strict editorial deadlines.
