Oum El Bouaghi Wali threatens contract terminations over housing delays

The Wali of Oum El Bouaghi, Ben Abdallah Chaïb-Eddour, has ordered the acceleration of various housing construction projects following inspections that revealed significant delays. The official has threatened to terminate contracts and reclaim land plots from companies failing to meet their obligations.

To address the delays, the Wali instructed officials to increase human and material resources on sites involving social housing, assisted promotional housing (LPA), and free promotional housing (LPL). For projects currently tied up in legal proceedings regarding contract terminations, the Wali noted that they will be transferred to the Real Estate Promotion Guarantee and Mutual Caution Fund once final judicial decisions are reached. This would allow a new developer to be appointed to complete the works.
