Oumar Sow alleges violence at Pikine-Guédiawaye court

The human rights think tank Afrikajom Center is calling for an independent investigation following allegations of violence against former minister-advisor Oumar Sow at the Pikine-Guédiawaye court.

Sow reported that on October 2, 2026, a verbal altercation with a security agent escalated into a physical confrontation involving police. He alleges he was forcibly seized, dragged to the court basement, and lost consciousness before being transferred to the Wakhinane-Guédiawaye police station and subsequently to Roi-Baudouin Hospital.

A medical certificate documented serious bruising to his right hand, right wrist, and head, resulting in seven days of temporary incapacity for work. Afrikajom Center has expressed deep concern and is urging authorities to ensure transparency and accountability regarding the incident.
