Ourense International Theater Festival begins 2026 edition

The Ourense International Theater Festival (FITO) has launched its 2026 edition, featuring a program designed to bring theatrical performances into the streets. The 10-day festival aims to decentralize its activities by utilizing various locations, including the city of Ourense, Ribadavia, and Celanova.

Key venues include the Liceo de Ourense, the Emilia Pardo Bazán hall, Praza de San Martiño, and the Teatro Principal de Ourense. The festival includes international collaborations with companies such as El Rayo Misterioso from Argentina and L’Explose from Colombia.

In addition to traditional plays, the programming features street and circus spectacles like ‘Sen Patrón’, the ‘67 Graos Ourense Fervescénica’ audience award initiative, and ‘Inorganic’, an urban animation and street theater project.
