Tres Arroyos faces wave of coordinated, planned robberies
Tres Arroyos is facing a wave of unprecedented, coordinated robberies that have caused significant concern among local authorities and the community. The crimes, which targeted a real estate agency, a meat processing plant, a law firm, and several businesses, involved highly planned entries through roofs using specialized tools such as grinders and blowtorches.
Security Secretary Juan Apolonio noted that these specific methods are atypical for the region and suggest the involvement of an organized group of four or five individuals. There are suspicions that the group may have received prior information from local contacts, though investigators noted that the actual loot was often less than expected, consisting largely of documents and checks rather than large amounts of cash.
In response to the rising insecurity, the local Security Forum and municipal officials are calling for increased police resources. Officials highlighted that a shortage of personnel due to resignations is hindering preventive efforts, prompting the mayor to request additional officers from the provincial government.
