Ousainou Darboe criticizes Barrow administration ahead of Gambia election

Ousainou Darboe, leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP), has intensified his campaign for the upcoming December 5 presidential election in The Gambia, criticizing the administration of President Adama Barrow.

During various rallies in regions including Foni Sibanor and Kiang Central, Darboe characterized the current economic situation as ‘one big wound’ affecting the nation. He accused the Barrow administration of failing to deliver on campaign promises, citing widespread economic hardship, inadequate healthcare resources in underserved areas, and the mismanagement of local development.

Darboe specifically urged voters, particularly the youth, to use their ballots to seek political change rather than accepting material gifts or money in exchange for votes. He also praised the local governance model of Brikama Area Council Chairman Yankuba Darboe, contrasting it with the performance of councils led by the ruling National People’s Party (NPP).
