Ousmane Kromah to miss remainder of season with foot and ankle injury

Florida State sophomore running back Ousmane Kromah is expected to miss the remainder of the 2026 season following a foot and ankle injury. Kromah sustained the injury during the Seminoles’ 43-35 double-overtime loss to Miami on Saturday.

Kromah, the team’s leading rusher with 609 yards and five touchdowns on 114 carries, has already undergone surgery to repair fractured bones in his ankle and foot. The school announced that he has returned to Tallahassee and is expected to make a full recovery.

The injury leaves the Seminoles' backfield depleted, as fellow running back Samuel Singleton Jr. is also sidelined indefinitely. Florida State will look to Quintrevion Wisner and freshman Amari Thomas to fill the void. Wisner, a former 1,000-yard rusher at Texas, recorded a season-high 63 rushing yards and a 28-yard touchdown reception during the game against Miami.
