Outdoor autumn activities expand in Quebec and France

Various regions in Quebec and France offer diverse outdoor activities to experience autumn foliage.

In Quebec, ziplining has become increasingly popular. Notable locations include Ziptrek Tremblant in the Laurentians, which features a 4 km course, and Sutton in the Eastern Townships, home to one of Canada’s steepest ziplines. Other significant sites include Camp Fortune in Outaouais, Ziptopia in Parc du Massif du Sud—described as the largest zipline park in North America—and the Parc des Chutes Monte-à-Peine-et-des-Dalles in Lanaudière. Additionally, via ferrata routes have expanded across the province, allowing climbers to traverse cliffs using secured iron steps and bridges.

In France, hiking destinations such as the Cévennes and the Vosges provide scenic autumn views. The Cévennes, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers routes like the Stevenson Way, which connects Le Puy-en-Velay to Saint-Jean-du-Gard through chestnut forests and valleys. The Vosges mountains feature beech and fir forests, with trails around lakes like Gérardmer and Longemer offering views of high-altitude landscapes and local wildlife.
