Outdoor sculpture symposiums scheduled in Germany and Switzerland

Several outdoor sculpture events are scheduled for August 2026 in Germany and Switzerland, allowing the public to observe artists creating works in real-time.

In Andechs, Germany, the “Kunst und Bier” symposium will take place in the sculpture park below the Kloster Andechs Bräustüberl from August 18 to August 25. Three selected artists—Katharina Haebler, Martin von Lossa, and Ole Prietz—will create two-meter-high sculptures. Their works include a wooden chicken balancing a beer mug and metal sculptures inspired by Bavarian brewing culture.

In Frauenfeld, Switzerland, the Murg-Auen-Park will host a sculptor's week from August 17 to August 26. Six sculptors will work on-site, creating new pieces that will be part of an exhibition lasting until October 31, 2026. The event also includes educational components for local students to learn about sculptural craftsmanship.
