Regional sporting and community events held across France and Canada

Various regional sporting and community events took place across France and Canada in October 2026. In Paris, the 48th edition of the 20km de Paris saw Kenyan Daniel Tumaka Kosen win the men's race and French runner Mekdes Woldu secure victory in the women's category, setting a new personal record.

Other regional activities included the inauguration of a new trail space in Le Thillot, France, and the 11th edition of the school eco-mobility challenge in the Hauts-de-France region. In Coquelles, the Urban Trail Cité Europe drew 1,600 participants, while the La Tollevastaise event in Manche attracted nearly 3,000 people for hiking, trail running, and mountain biking.

In Canada, the International Foundation of Cultures to Share in Boucherville, Quebec, manages a massive operation involving the distribution of over one million books annually. Meanwhile, the Marathon du Cher in France faced logistical issues when a signaling error caused some runners to complete up to 45 km instead of the standard marathon distance.
