Outlander: Blood of My Blood explores character origins in prequel series

The Starz prequel series ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’ explores the origins of the characters from the flagship ‘Outlander’ series. The show follows the romantic and platonic relationships of Claire Beauchamp’s parents, Henry and Julia, alongside Jamie Fraser’s parents, Brian and Ellen.

Season 2 is set to address the challenges facing Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie. Following the Season 1 finale, the couple faces separation due to the Jacobite uprising, which calls Scotland’s clans to fight. Actress Harriet Slater, who portrays Ellen, noted that the characters are thrust apart by duty and danger shortly after finding happiness together.

In addition to the central romance of Brian and Ellen, the series highlights the evolving friendship between Julia Beauchamp and Brian Fraser, providing context for the family histories established in the original series.
