Outsource employees in Sehore protest unpaid wages and labor violations

The Madhya Pradesh State Outsource Employees Union held a protest in Sehore to address the grievances of outsource and contract workers. On Tuesday, September 22, union representatives submitted a memorandum to Deputy Collector Kiran Varwade, which was subsequently forwarded to State Labor Minister Prahlad Singh Patel.

The union is demanding strict adherence to labor laws, specifically calling for the timely payment of minimum wages, provident funds (EPF), Employee State Insurance (ESIC), bonuses, and honorariums. They highlighted that workers deployed in various government departments, corporations, hospitals, and educational institutions are facing severe financial distress and mental agony due to wages being withheld for several months.

Union leaders, including District President Arvind Sharma and State President Ashish Singh Sisodia, urged authorities to hold contracting agencies accountable to ensure that workers receive their legal entitlements and social security benefits without delay.
