Outward 2 announced for early access on February 8, 2027

Nine Dots Studio has announced that the action RPG Outward 2: Expedition will enter early access on February 8, 2027. The title will be available on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.com.

As a sequel to the 2019 original, the game maintains its focus on survival and preparation. Players manage hunger, thirst, and fatigue while navigating the open world of Aurai. New features include a complete seasonal cycle that alters biomes and environmental conditions across four major regions, as well as a dynamic defeat system where losing combat leads to unique consequences rather than a simple game over.

Character progression will be influenced by choosing from three starting scenarios and eleven backgrounds. The game will support both solo play and two-player cooperative modes, including online and local split-screen. The developers aim for a full release approximately 12 to 18 months after the early access launch.
