Oğuzhan Uğur remains in detention amid AHBAP investigation

A Turkish court has ruled to continue the detention of Babala TV founder Oğuzhan Uğur as part of an ongoing investigation into the AHBAP Association. Uğur is being held on charges including ‘abuse of trust due to service’ and ‘laundering of assets derived from crime.’

The investigation, conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, focuses on allegations that donations collected on behalf of the AHBAP Association were transferred to the accounts of suspects. Financial records, bank movements, and reports are currently under scrutiny. The number of detainees in the case has risen to 28, including AHBAP founder Haluk Levent.

In a related development, TV commentator Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı disclosed correspondence between himself and Uğur. Kütahyalı revealed that Uğur had written to him to invite him to a program, stating, ‘It is true that I am angry with you, but I do not harbor hatred.’ Kütahyalı noted that while he holds no personal anger toward Uğur, he maintains a critical view of Uğur’s father, whom he described as a representative of a ‘counter-guerrilla mentality.’
