OVAC soccer finals and regional fall sports results

The Ohio Valley Athletic Conference (OVAC) concluded several soccer championship matches. In the Class 1-3A boys final, Wheeling Central Catholic defeated Columbiana 3-0. In the Class 1-3A girls final, Wheeling Central Catholic secured a 7-0 victory over United, led by Loni Kusic’s three goals and one assist.

In the Class 5A girls division, University defeated Beaver Local 8-2, with Braylee Armentrout and Maddie Fritsch each scoring twice. In the Class 5A boys division, Wheeling Park handed Beaver Local its first loss of the season with a 6-2 win. Additionally, St. Clairsville repeated as Class 4A boys champions after defeating Oak Glen 5-2.

Regional fall sports scores from late September also included various volleyball and soccer results. In volleyball, Vinton County won the Jackson Apple Festival Tournament, defeating Oak Hill 2-0 in the championship. Other notable volleyball victories included Coal Grove, Gallia Academy, and Wheelersburg. Soccer results featured wins for Waverly, Athens, and Minford.
