Ovada to host dam collapse commemorations and local markets

The city of Ovada will host several events in mid-August, ranging from historical commemorations to local markets.

On August 13, the community will observe the 91st anniversary of the Molare dam collapse. The day of remembrance includes a ceremony at the Ovada cemetery to honor the victims of the 1935 flood, followed by a commemorative walk along the Orba stream organized by the Robydamatti association and other local groups. A commemorative panel will be inaugurated to preserve the memory of the disaster.

On August 15, the Pro Loco di Ovada will organize an antiques market throughout the city's historic center, including Piazza Garibaldi and Piazza San Domenico. The event will also feature a black truffle fair. Additionally, the Lions Club Ovada will offer free health screenings for diabetes, blood pressure, and vision in Piazza XX Settembre.
