Ovalle and Lundin Mining announce local development and community initiatives

The Municipality of Ovalle has opened applications for its 'Fonda Solidaria' event, scheduled for September 18 and 19 at the Los Peñones Recreational Park. The initiative aims to celebrate national holidays while providing economic opportunities for local entrepreneurs in sectors such as gastronomy, manufacturing, and traditional fair games. Applications for exhibitors are available until August 31.

Separately, Lundin Mining reported high engagement for its 'Juntos Crecemos 2026' competitive fund, which received 903 project submissions. This year marks the first time the company has integrated the social investment experiences of its Caserones and Candelaria operations into a single program. The fund supports entrepreneurs, social organizations, sports, and education across rural and urban areas in Tierra Amarilla, Copiapó, and Caldera. Results are expected to be announced on September 24.
